CS4039 Frontiers in Communication Science
Although much communication research relies on techniques such as focus groups, surveys, or simple pencil-and-paper or computer-based experimentation, there are a number of techniques that draw more heavily on other fields, and which represent ways to answer questions that are difficult to answer using more traditional approaches. This course systematically covers examples of several such techniques, and introduces approaches to exploring these and other frontiers in communication science further in the future.
A further aim is to show you a great many examples of real research, and to build a more intuitive understanding of how the scientific method works in practice.
Semester 2, AY2026–27
